Terms

Last updated 15 October 2026

These terms cover using Mythforge (the web app, the desktop apps and the phone apps) and buying a licence for it. They're written to be read: if anything is unclear, ask us.

Who we are

Mythforge is made by Fairsoft Ltd, registered in England and Wales. In these terms "we" and "us" mean Fairsoft Ltd, and "you" means the person using Mythforge.

Buying through Paddle

Our order process is conducted by our online reseller Paddle.com. Paddle.com is the Merchant of Record for all our orders: it sells you the licence, takes the payment, charges the right tax, sends your receipt and handles refunds and billing questions. Paddle's buyer terms apply to the purchase itself, alongside these terms.

Your licence

  • A licence costs £69.99, once, including VAT. It isn't a subscription.
  • It's for you personally, on every device you use Mythforge on, signed in with the email address you bought it with. It can't be shared, resold or transferred to someone else.
  • It includes every update we release for this version of Mythforge. If we ever make a new major version that costs extra, the version you bought keeps working.
  • You may use Mythforge to write anything, including work you sell. We claim no rights in what you write.

The free trial

A new account gets 30 days of use with every feature. A day counts only when you use Mythforge. The app checks in with us now and then to count the days, so a trial that stays offline for a long time pauses editing until it can check in. When the trial ends, you can still read and export your library and sync carries on; editing needs a licence. We may give extra time on request.

Your writing

Your library is stored on your device, and in your own Dropbox or Google Drive if you turn on sync. It isn't stored on our servers, so it's your copy we rely on. Mythforge keeps automatic earlier versions of scenes and safety backups, and you can export your whole library at any time; we still recommend keeping your own backups of work that matters.

Your account

You sign in with a code we email you. Keep access to that email address secure, since anyone who can read it can sign in as you. We may suspend an account that's used to break the law, attack the service or get around the licence, and will tell you why where we can.

Keeping Mythforge running

We work to keep Mythforge available and your data safe, and fix problems as quickly as we can, but we can't promise it will never be interrupted. The web app needs a connection to sign in; the desktop and phone apps work offline once set up. We may change or improve features over time; we won't take away your ability to read and export your writing.

Refunds

You can have your money back within 30 days of buying, without giving a reason. See Refunds.

Your rights and our responsibility

If you buy as a consumer, you have legal rights under UK consumer law, including that digital content is as described, fit for purpose and of satisfactory quality. Nothing in these terms takes those rights away.

We're responsible for loss or damage you suffer that's a foreseeable result of us breaking these terms or failing to use reasonable care. We're not responsible for loss that wasn't foreseeable, or for business losses. Nothing here limits our responsibility where the law doesn't allow it to be limited, such as for fraud.

Changes

We may update these terms, for example when the law or Mythforge changes. The date at the top says when they last changed. A change never takes away a licence you've already bought.

The law

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. If you live in Scotland or Northern Ireland, you can also bring a claim in your own courts. Before that, please talk to us: write to hello@fairsoft.co.uk or use the support form.
