Writing stats
Words per day, streaks, your writing rhythm and how each manuscript is coming along.
Mythforge keeps a quiet tally of your writing: how much you wrote today, your streak, which days you write best, how each manuscript is coming along and how well your lore is woven into the story. Each world has its own stats.
At a glance
A world's Home tab has a Stats section with up to three cards:
- Writing: words today, the last 7 days, your current streak, and a small chart of the last two weeks.
- Goal: progress towards the word target of the manuscript you last wrote in (shown when it has a word target).
- Writing sprints, once you've done a writing sprint in the world: sprints in the Last 7 days, your Best pace in words a minute, how many In all, and your total sprint time and words.
Select any card, or See all, to open the full Stats screen. It has three views.

Writing
- Today, the last 7 days, your streak (with your best), and your daily average.
- The last 30 days as a chart. Drag across it, or use the arrow keys, to see each day's count.
- The last six months as a calendar, shaded by how much you wrote each day.
- Your rhythm: average words by day of the week, such as "You write most on Saturdays".
- Best days: your biggest days.
- Sprints, once you've done a writing sprint in the world: how many (and how many goals you met), your total sprint time, your best pace in words a minute, and your latest sprints.
Manuscripts
Pick a manuscript to see:
- its words, chapters and scenes, with averages, and roughly how long it takes to read,
- progress towards its word target,
- how many scenes are at each status, from Outline to Final,
- words by chapter, to spot a chapter that's running long or short,
- its longest scenes. Select one to open it.
Lore
- How many lore entries you have, how many mentions, what share of entries are mentioned in your writing, and how many tags.
- Pages by category, the most mentioned pages, and which characters appear in each manuscript.
- Waiting for a mention: pages nothing links to yet. They might be worth weaving in, or trimming.
How words are counted
Each day, Mythforge counts the words you add to scenes in that world. Deleting words doesn't lower the count, so a day of heavy revision still counts as a day's work.
These don't count towards today:
- words brought in by importing a manuscript,
- words put back by restoring a snapshot,
- words changed by find and replace.
The history is part of your library, so it's backed up and synced with everything else. If you write on two devices on the same day, the day keeps the larger of the two counts.
The Daily goal in Settings → Writing is separate: it counts your writing in all worlds together, on this device, and resets each day. See The editor.
